HACKS & TACTICS for NEW RESELLERS - Disney Store 40% Off Sale

The Disney Store is not exactly a secret. Most resellers are well aware that they run some mega sales (like the one that is winding down now) and listings can become competitive and saturated quickly (though now that we're approaching Q4, most Disney Store buys are safe).

So, do I even bother still shopping there? Yep.

Today through my Patreon Coaching & Mentoring Program, I share my tricks for avoiding the hordes of resellers and the potential "price tanking" (along with some BOLOs)!!

Chris Anderson hits the nail on the head with this post. Not everyone is cut out for entrepreneurship and that's okay. But his comments are extremely valid points that you should consider before going all in.

As the popularity of "lady bosses", "ecommerce entrepreneurs" and "home based empires" continues to rise, make sure you take a realistic look at the lifestyle. Are you cut out for it?

Quit dwelling on what you suck at. Bet on Your Strengths.

Quit dwelling on what you suck at.

We are all pretty pathetic at multiple things and there's always a way to compensate. Hang with like-minded wolves whose experience and strength lie in other areas, outsource the "stuff you suck at" and exploit your own personal strengths to the max - they're what will take you to the next level.

A Real Entrepreneur is in it Because She or He Has No Choice

Building businesses drives me. I'll never be satisfied with just a paycheck. Entrepreneurship is ingrained in me. And it's so much more then striving for "wealth". It's the personal satisfaction and sense of accomplishment it brings. I love building something from nothing, I love the process, I love the risk and I love proving to myself that it can be done. <3

EBAY - Recent Sale & My Notes on What Matters & What Does Not When Listing

These Catherine Malandrino slides were $3 to $40 plus shipping. They're new (no box and store code on the bottom), from the TJ Maxx/Marshalls Semi-Annual Sale. Plus I purchased a variety of sizes/quantities so they're super easy to list multiple times in different sizes, allowing me to profit many times over from essentially one act of creating a listing. I chose the price because sold listings of similar items showed selling prices of $25-30 and I always price higher then pricing history shows & utilize BUY IT NOW or BEST OFFER. I also charge for shipping. Interestingly enough the buyer didn't bother with an offer.

Shipping.... they'll get stuffed with tissue paper so they retain their shape. Then rolled in two layers of tissue paper (Subway sub style :) ) & sealed with a thank you sticker. Up to size 8.5/9 shoes, depending on bulkiness will fit in a priority flat rate bubble mailer.

On another note - my listings are SIMPLE and BRIEF. I've been selling on eBay for over 20 years and despite what the eBay overkill experts claim, you do not need to painstakingly white out all backgrounds, set-up some crazy pants lighting system and create elaborate descriptions with alternating font colors of pink and blue. Don't forget to put a value on the time you're investing that could possibly be used elsewhere. I've met many an eBay seller who would have made more working at a fast food restaurant because they spent so much time on "dumb shit" (nod to Gary Vee :) ).

We take the photos with a smart phone in natural lighting, fill in all item specifics and leave the description blank (I do throw measurements in there occasionally but often categories also have fields for you to enter those within the item specifics).

Why do I skip the description section (.... oh the horror!)? Because on eBay it's redundant. I'm not wasting time copying and pasting details from the item specifics into the description as well. It's just more "crap" for the buyer to read. And with so many buyers purchasing via mobile nowadays, less can be better if done correctly.

Moreover, I've found that this quick style of listing clearly works for me. This is a SIDE HUSTLE amongst many - not my main gig. So I'm all about cutting corners and increasing the efficiency and ease of listing, while still keeping customers happy and sales popping.

Like I've said before - at the "peak" of my eBay I was averaging around $10K/month in sales with blindingly white backgrounds on my photos, over the top animated templates and horrifically wonderful pink descriptions with Comic Sans font. Now currently we're still in the pre-Q4 slump and with half the listings I'm averaging over $8K/month. So I'd say listing on eBay in this fashion is working well for me :)
